The current website has no advertising trackers, purchased audience lists, reader accounts, or cross-site tracking. Cloudflare processes technical request information to deliver and secure the site. Our hosting providers may retain security and operational logs.

If the contact form is enabled, we store the message, optional email, selected county, submission time, and review status. A temporary hash derived from a request address is used to limit abuse; the application does not store the raw address in its contact database.

Newsletter enrollment is unavailable until delivery is ready. Once enabled, signup stores your email, county, consent time, confirmation and preference-token hashes, and subscription/delivery status. Only confirmed subscribers receive briefings. Amazon SES and the project’s AWS sending service process messages for delivery.

Contact records are intended to be reviewed and deleted after 90 days unless needed for an unresolved correction or request. A daily maintenance task removes expired rate-limit records. Newsletter suppression records may be retained to honor an opt-out; pending signup records should be removed after 30 days. These operational retention jobs must be verified before public newsletter enrollment opens.

We do not sell subscriber or contact information. Request logs must not contain signup tokens, message bodies, or email addresses. Publishing your tip or name requires separate editorial consideration; submitting a message is not permission to publish private details.

We use no reader-identifying analytics in this first release. If measurement tools or data practices change, we will update this page before enabling them. Provider-operated security logs are separate from application analytics.
